As the largest of all the Great Lakes in the midwest, Lake Michigan borders Wisconsin, Michigan, Indiana, and Illinois. Those living in Illinois are lucky enough to be able to experience Lake Michigan in many parts of the state, from the more rural areas, all the way to downtown Chicago, where visitors can actually stroll down the outside of the lake’s boundaries. Lake Michigan is a hub for an endless amount of activities, including fishing, boating, swimming, city tours and so much more. Many in Illinois even have lake homes so they can visit whenever they would like. At the most majestic lake on the list, we had to save the best for last.
