Albuquerque’s Rio Grande Community Farm offers a wonderful pumpkin patch experience at their Maize Maze.  Every Halloween season, Maize Maze is the funnest pumpkin patch experience in the state. The maze is amazing and the pumpkins are fresh for the picking. It’s fun for the whole family.

Within the maze, there are checkpoints that will assist visitors to find their way through the maze. Signs with riddles are posted inside the maze to help visitors in their navigation.  The major goal of the Maize Maze is to raise money for the programs at the farm. Service-learning programs bring over 1,000 visitors to Rio Grand Community Farm each year.

The maze also provides food for the migrating birds, Sandhill Cranes and Canada Geese, that live at the farm during the winter. There are informational signs throughout the maze trails to learn about corn, owls, trees, sunflowers, and mazes.

The Maze is Also Featured in Other Events at the Farm

The Rio Grande Community Farm offers several events during the Halloween season. This year the farm has several nights of special events planned that are perfect for the entire family to attend. The events are as follows:

October 25th – Bike in Movie Night

Ride your bike or your broom into the farm and enjoy the classic Halloween movie Hocus Pocus. After the movie, there are live band performances to enjoy as well. If you bike or broom in, you’ll get 20% off your ticket.

October 26th – Maze-N-Music Festival

This huge music festival follows the Farmstrong 5k and features a variety of New Mexico-based bands. The bands will include Gabriel Tafoya, Stanlie Kee, Good Green, Dirty Brown Jug Band, Concepto Tambor, Le Chat Lunatique, and Saturday Night Fever Blister! 

Also, enjoy local brews from Steelbender Brewing and Sidetrack Brewing. Plus food from Pop Fizz and Nomad’s BBQ.

October 27th – Vintage Truck and Tractor Festival

The brews and food stay for another night to serve the thousands of event-goers at this unique vintage truck and tractor festival. Enjoy your day looking at the variety of restored classics and then stay for the party at night.

November 1st – Dia De Los Dinner

Celebrate Dia De Los Muertos at the farm offered by The Munchie Truck and Supper Truck. While you eat, enjoy the music by Burque Sol.
