MacAlpine’s Diner and Soda Fountain is home to this talk of the town 22-scoop ice cream! Aptly called “The Legend,” this sundae is considered a Phoenix stable that has stood the test of time. It is the largest dessert in the place and is also the diner’s most expensive item at $119.99.

The Sinfully Good 22-Scoop Ice Cream Challenge in Arizona

Creating this ice cream feels more of a task than a simple preparation. The Legend requires ten pounds or about 22 scoops of different flavored ice cream and is carefully scooped on top of each other in a big bowl. Once it’s weighed at 10 pounds, delicious streams of whipped ice cream are added, along with sweet cherries, and a trio of sauces. Note: You can also dress it up with your choice of toppings (you can choose up to 6).

It becomes so big at times that the ice cream shelves are made to hold the next layer. Now, the only question is, how many of your friends should come together to eat this sweet treat? You better come prepared if you want to succeed in this 22-scoop ice cream challenge in Arizona!

If you prefer “smaller” dessert servings, try these:

The Pinnacle
This is the second biggest sundae next to The Legend, and only three pounds lighter. Taste the goodness of this ice cream creation which comes with four toppings of your choice, whipped cream, and cherries! Price: $95.99

The Masterpiece
If you think you are no match for The Legend or The Pinnacle, you should still give The Masterpiece a try. It weighs four pounds, which come with two toppings, whipped cream, and cherries. Price: $59.99.
