The elevation gain of Cibecue Creek Trail is 439 feet, and it only covers a distance of 3.5 miles, so yes, it’s pretty much for everyone. You don’t need to be a full-fledged hiker to see the magnificent waterfalls at the very end. Although, if you’re not really physically active, you do need to be extra careful because you might need to scramble over large rocks from time to time.

To get to the Cibecue Creek Trail, prepare to take the bumpy ride down an old dirt road. The road is very narrow, and at times, you will be at the mercy of sheer cliffs. All visitors are reminded to use the road with extreme caution. As you continue the drive, you’ll notice that the road follows along the Salt River and will pass by campgrounds. Take note of the campgrounds in case you plan on spending the night. The Cibeque Creek won’t be too far out. You must drive over it (permits are required) in order to reach the main trailhead. After crossing the creek, you will see a parking area on the right. A big sign with rules will also greet you, so it is right to be considerate of them.

It’s moderate, but expect that your feet will get wet and the trail will require a lot of rock jumping. If you’re hiking with your dog, the adventure will be twice as fun, but it’s important to keep an eye on them and make sure their paws don’t get gouged by the riverbed rocks.

Stop to Appreciate the Beauty of Nature

You’ll be mesmerized by the beauty of the creek. There is also plenty of shade and the water provides a cooling sensation. Once you feel tired, you can take comfort in the fact that you will see gorgeous panoramic views once you reach the waterfall.

Look closely at the rock walls. Keep in mind that the closer you get to the waterfall, the more narrow the whole canyon becomes. We won’t be surprised if you miss it because it is hiding just around the corner. If you walk up to it, the 30-feet waterfall will just make its majestic presence visible.
