Bad drivers are found anywhere in this world. Your city may be your top-of-mind, but it also helps to check from trusted sources if in reality, you have it good or bad. The personal injury law firm Skousen, Gulbrandsen & Patience examined cities based on the Arizona Department of Transportation’s statistics and population estimates to determine the bad places. If you’re curious, take a look at this list showing the cities with the worst drivers in Arizona:

10. Kingman

The city along the famous Route 66 is the 10th Arizona City with the worst drivers. Stay careful when you’re driving along the area!

Details:

Population: 29,600
Total Crashes (Annually): 627
Crash To Population: 2.1%
Crash To Population vs. Average: -3%

9. Sedona

Who would’ve thought that the place best known for healing is also included in this list? Sedona takes the 9th spot.

8. Cottonwood

The businesses in Cottonwood in the trades of produce, spirits, and construction make this place the “Biggest Little Town in the State of Arizona.” But as far as this list is concerned, it is the eight-city with the worst drivers in Arizona.

This city in Navajo County ranked 7th in the list, but it has the same crash to population with Glendale. So basically, it’s a tie. If you’re coming here, don’t add to the number of bad drivers in the city and remember to drive with care.

Details:
Population: 11,377
Total Crashes (Annually): 260
Crash To Population: 2.3%
Crash To Population vs. Average: -11%

6. Glendale

Arizona’s “Antique Capital” is the Top 6 city with the worst drivers in Arizona.

Details:

Population: 239,858
Total Crashes (Annually): 5,483

5. Flagstaff

There are a lot of cool places to explore in Flagstaff. But apparently, you have to be more careful when you’re out and about. The crash to population of Flagstaff isn’t far from Phoenix’s. Last year, the total crashes are at 1,962.

Many Phoenix drivers act as if they’re about to perform NASCAR-style bump draft overtakes when they’re on the road. This is probably why they landed fourth in this list. You can’t deny the beauty of this city, but just to be sure, drive extra carefully when you’re on the road.

How Did They Arrive At Such a Conclusion?

Don’t think that the law firm didn’t crunch enough numbers before putting out this list. To rank the cities, they took the ratio between the city population and the total annual crashes in the specified city. The result is the crash to population percentage, which is then ranked in a descending order, or from highest to lowest.

The Arizona city with the highest crash to population percentage is considered the worst out of all the cities. On the other hand, the city with the lowest crash to population percentage is the best out of all the cities in Arizona.

We hope that this list will serve as a good reminder for all drivers to practice safe driving habits, and avoid texting while driving, or driving under the influence of alcohol. You need to be cautious no matter where you are. Just the same, let’s all be aware of our surroundings on the road so we can get to where we’re going safely, and not put the lives of others at risk.
