What You Should Know:

  • While you can rent paddleboards by simply going to their shop, it would be better if you reserve online. They may be busy during the summer season.
  • Beginners may opt to choose tours instead of rentals so you’ll be guided throughout.
  • Even though there’s no permit, take in mind that to be able to access the river, you’ll enter via Glen Canyon National Recreation Area. With that said, you must get a pass for around $30 per vehicle which is good for 7 days.
  • You can bring your pets. They have lifejackets for them too. But it would be better if you bring something that would snugly fit your pet.
  • If you’re not from Arizona, make sure to set your time first to the state’s time.
  • Bring all essentials that you’ll need for this trip. The essentials include warm clothes, hiking shoes, sleeping bags, water, and food.
  • You can also rent tents and other camping gear at the shop.
  • Be there early because even though there’s no camping fee, it’s on a first come first serve basis.
  • If you want to rent additional stuff other than paddleboards like a kayak, bike, or packraft, you can contact the shop and they’ll deliver them to your location.
