What a spectacle unfolded in the skies above the United States on Friday night!
Southern regions of the U.S. were treated to a display of the northern lights on Friday evening. The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) issued an unusual severe geomagnetic storm warning after a solar outburst made contact with Earth on Friday afternoon. These effects were expected to persist through the weekend and potentially extend into the following week.
