Lake of the Woods is located on Route 260 in the city of Pinetop-Lakeside in the Mountains. It is approximately 3 hours northeast of Phoenix and 4 hours from Tucson. You can just drive here if you want to go on a quick getaway with your family or friends. There are 26 cabins and 7 condo-style units you can come home to for a restful sleep. The accommodations also cater to individuals or groups of up to 20 people.

If you want to go on a solo adventure or a sweet trip with your lover, then you might only need the 1 Bedroom or Studio Cabin at Lake of the Woods. It contains a kitchen or kitchenette and is equipped with tools such as pans, pots, silverware, glasses, utensils, and salt and pepper. In addition, you get to chill in your own living room that comes with a fireplace, an outside deck, and a grill.

Are you coming with a big group? The 2 Bedroom Cabins or Condo Units are ideal because it provides a bigger space for you to move around in.

Lastly, the 3 Bedroom or 5 Bedroom Cabins can cater to large families who just want to have a fun staycation. These cabins have a lake view and can sleep anywhere from 12 to 20 individuals. Similar to the other cabins, it has a full kitchen, a living room, a large dining room, and an outside deck and grill. Choose the Lakewood, Pines, and Oaks condo units to get a rowboat inclusion. The Chalet (house) also lets you fish right outside your door.

Fishing

Look around you – there is a private lake where you can fish in peace. You’ll probably see other individuals But just remember, the management has set some limits for those who wish to catch one. First, a guest may only catch 5 fishes per angler per day. Next, all trouts must be 10” or larger to keep. You should also release the fish you do not intend to eat.

The management encourages everyone not to just give away fish to other guests as it is important that they catch their own. Take note that you are also only allowed one pole per angler, and you should only use worms as live bait.

Boating

Make your trip extra special by renting a boat to explore the lake. You can rent one for $10 for the first hour. If you need more time, you can pay $5 for every additional hour, and $30 per day. The boats are available from April through October, weather permitting.

You are not allowed to bring alcoholic drinks on the boat. For safety reasons, you can also use it before dark and after sunrise.

Chilling and Relaxing

Even staying inside the cabin is already a feel-good moment. Just get a cup of hot chocolate or get a restful sleep. After all, you deserve to unwind after the daily stress of your life.

You may also use the 2 jacuzzis and a dry sauna on the property. Chilling here would be ideal if you don’t feel like going to the lake to fish or go boating. There are recreation rooms where you can play pool or ping pong. Think of it as a mini bachelor pad.

Visitors who fancy a game of shuffleboard will also enjoy it here. For guests with kids, you may take them to the playground which is used by children under 12.

The check-in time at Lake of the Woods is at 3:00 pm. If your arrival is after the office closes, you may contact the staff beforehand for directions about picking up your keys. As for the departure, the standard check-out time is at 10:00 am for the 3- and 5-bedooms cabins (#24, Pines, Oaks, Chalet and Lakewood). All other cabins have 11:00 am as its check-out time.

Pets are welcome here. However, you need to pay a $10 per pet for their stay. you should be responsible for cleaning up after them, and you must also keep them on leashes when strolling outside the cabin at all times. If you are going out to try some recreational activities and your pet will be left inside the cabin, they must be crated to avoid damaging the property.
