This is quite similar to the rides in a safari park, but the thing is you don’t need to worry about tigers approaching your window!

Before taking this one of a kind Phoenix Zoo tour, you need to buy your tickets online through their website. Take note that they are only selling 450 tickets per day. If you didn’t reach the cut-off, you must choose another day to visit. You should also consider pre-purchasing your food and drinks, photo packages, and souvenir online because they won’t be accepting cash or cards on the spot. Don’t think of this as a hassle. The management is implementing this as part of their safety protocols.

To start Cruise the Zoo, you will need to enter from Galvin Parkway. There will be several stops during the course to manage the intersections. Why? Well, there are different pathways where you will come across cars who are exiting. A safety officer will be there to manage the traffic. Once the fun Phoenix Zoo tour starts, you’d be so happy seeing all the animals such as the flamingos, giraffes, elephants at the Africa Trail and Tropics Trail. There are two trails that you will find in this Phoenix zoo tour: Tropics and Africa Trail. Since we’re still in the middle of a worldwide pandemic, visitors should follow strictly the rules provided by the zoo. This is to ensure a fun and safe tour for all.

  • Cars with tickets are allowed to enter starting at 7 am and the last vehicle scheduled for that day must be in line at exactly 11 am or else your ticket will be forfeited.
  • Vehicles larger than a full-size long bed truck are not allowed.
  • Passengers at the back of a pickup are not allowed.
  • You should not open the door of your car and you to remain there for the duration of the tour.
  • Portable restrooms are available before entering the parking lot. In case of an emergency during the course of the tour, you should inform a Phoenix Zoo staff immediately.
  • You can bring your own food.
  • Strictly follow the 4 mph speed limit.
  • Do not disturb animals and other guests. Do not honk your horns or yell around the vicinity. Remember to respect the Phoenix Zoo guests and animals.
  • You may bring your own food and drink to enjoy in your vehicle. However, you are not allowed to take with you glass containers or alcoholic beverages. You also cannot pet or feed the animals because you are likely to stay inside your vehicle.

Many guests really enjoyed this unique Phoenix Zoo tour. Due to popular demand, the management decided to add more schedules to the fun activity. You can now book your “Cruise the Zoo” slot for the Thursday – Monday of June, July, and August, as well as selected dates in September. The schedule will be as follows:

  • September 4 (Friday) to September 7 (Monday)
  • September 11 (Friday) to September 13 (Sunday)
  • September 25 (Friday) to September 27 (Sunday)

Please take note that the hours will be limited to 7 am to 12 nn. All cars must also be in line by 11 am since the zoo only accommodates 450 vehicles per day.

Admission Fee:

  • Phoenix Zoo members – $50 per car
  • Phoenix Zoo non-members – $65 per car

Operating Hours: 7 am to 11 am every Monday and Thursday to Sunday
