What a spectacle unfolded in the skies above the United States on Friday night!
Southern regions of the U.S. were treated to a display of the northern lights on Friday evening. The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) issued an unusual severe geomagnetic storm warning after a solar outburst made contact with Earth on Friday afternoon. These effects were expected to persist through the weekend and potentially extend into the following week. Arizonans in Flagstaff, Prescott Valley, Cottonwood and Groom Creek all caught photos of lights in the sky. Check out 15 of the Best Northern Light Photos captured in New Mexico:
