Las Vegas in Nevada holds the title of the brightest place on the entire planet from space, so I’m sure it knows how to use lights to its advantage, right? And, Las Vegas in New Mexico, popularly known as Vegas, has a hidden light sanctuary known to give peace and tranquility and has actual rainbows cast all over the room. I mean, there’s something in the name that has to do with lights, haha!

This place is called Dwan Light Sanctuary and I’m gonna tell you all about it today.

You can enter a world where light becomes art; every moment is a mesmerizing journey of illumination. At the Dwan Light Sanctuary, fantastic prisms, instead of boring old windows turn sunlight into awesome rainbows that fill the place with super cool colors! There are also prisms on the roof that create big bands of color that change as the earth spins. And guess what? On full moon nights, you can even see cool colors from the moon!

The central part of the building is 36 feet wide and 23 feet tall, and it’s all about matching up with the sun and moon vibes. It’s like a cosmic hangout spot where nature’s beauty and cool science meet! Plus, there’s this line on the floor that points straight to the North Star. How cool is that?

Directions: The Dwan Light Sanctuary is on the UWC-USA campus in Las Vegas, so be mindful of this. To visit, you need to stop at the Welcome Center. Then, submit your driver’s license in exchange for the access key. You’ll also get the directions, along with the key, so follow them strictly.

Best Time To Visit: The prisms are at their best during full sunlight, so visiting from late morning to early afternoon is recommended for the most impressive experience.

Charges: Zero; however, you can donate at the Welcome Center.

Timings: Sunrise to Sunset every day.
