This Unique Attraction In Louisiana Is An Absolute Must-Visit

When you think of New Orleans visions of Bourbon Street chaos and French Quarter beauty come to mind. But New Orleans has so much more to offer. In particular is the spectacular and magical New Orleans City Park. The 1,300 acre park opened to the public in 1854, making it one of the oldest city parks in the country.

Year round there are attractions at the park that rival just about any other city park I’ve ever seen. Concerts, holiday events, nature outings, photography gatherings, you name it.

Here are a few amazing shots of events that go one at the park as well as just simple serene beauty on any given day.

Peristyle, City Park Lagoon, City Park, New Orleans - Photo by Len Blanks The Peristyle, located in City Park, was built by Andry & Bendernagel in 1907, originally as a dancing pavilion. The Peristyle is a Neo-Classical structure with Ionic columns, guarded by four concrete lions. Colour infrared image taken with an IR-modified Nikon D70s.
