5 Must-Visit Places in Arizona That Offer the Best High Speed Kart Racing

Published

on

Kart racing is a fun activity that is perfect for family and friends. Speed your way through the track and race each other to the finish line, and you will just see a smile creep its way into your face. If you think the state is only about hiking activities and surreal landscapes, you are sorely mistaken. Try kart racing in Arizona and visit these spots!

1. Phoenix Kart Racing Association

This is one of the most famous kart racing destinations in Arizona. The Phoenix Kart Racing Association is actually a member-owned and operated club and facility established way back in 1982. They boast an asphalt track that is 3/4th of a mile long and averages at 25 feet in width. It has a dozen turns of various radii and over 500 feet of straight away, so it will surely be a constant challenge for both beginner and expert drivers. The track here is primarily for those who own their karts, but if you don’t have one, you can rent an “arrive and drive” kart rental service.

Many visitors come here even if they have no experience with kart racing in Arizona. The company says, “no matter the age, driver size, or budget – there’s a class for everyone in karting.” Well, isn’t that nice? Don’t be afraid to try this challenge. It’s not only exciting. It will be truly fun, too!

Here’s another good spot if you want to take your kids to try kart racing in Arizona. The Tucson Kart Speedway is a grassroots karting facility that offers racers the fastest 1/5 mile clay oval in the southwest! They have been in operation for over 45 years, so you know that they made a lot of racers happy. Otherwise, they wouldn’t have lasted that long.

The race sometimes lets the participants compete for trophies at every event. If you’re lucky (and you are an expert racer), you just might bring home an award from an event.

Do you want to be a spectator instead of a racer? That’s fine too. Feel free to cheer for the drivers wheeling the fast karts around. You can get updates on the regular race season through Tucson Kart Speedway’s Facebook page. The best thing about it is that admission is free!

Octane Raceway is the go-to destination for racers looking to enjoy high-speed race karts. They can just fly down the straightaways up to 45 mph or carve up the corners like a cool action star on the challenging road course. The 1/3 mile track is the only full-time indoor and outdoor track in the entire United States!

You will also appreciate the sleek and modern facility that shows the raceway is well-maintained. It is specifically designed so you can enjoy the best racing experience imaginable. The track layout will also excite the racers because each one is unique in the sense that each lap begins indoors. It will wind through an outdoor section of the course. Then after that, the track will lead you back inside. It is simply awesome!

Octane Raceway keeps track of the score of racers in a “Fastest Lap format.” It is where the driver gets in the karts in random order and race for a set number of laps. If you are joining an adult race, you should strive to be the first to finish 14 laps. On the other hand, junior races let challengers race the first 10 laps. The driver with the best lap time wins the race.

Not that we think you’d get tired of kart racing, but you can also try other fun activities in Octane Raceway. They have an upgraded arcade housing today’s most popular video games such as Jurassic Park, Time Crisis 5, Big Buck Hunter HD, Sega Showdown, Lara Croft, Aliens Armageddon, and more.

You can also try their Velocity VR, which is the first free-roam multiplayer virtual reality arena in the Western United States. After that, you can strike some pins and try the Mini Bowling that has shorter lanes and smaller and lighter balls than traditional bowling.
