Okay, so you’ve already seen the luxurious homes in Hawaii, and even the most expensive houses in Arizona. Now what? Is there anything else that can blow your mind away? We bet there is. Enter the famous Frank Lloyd Wright House in Phoenix, Arizona. It was designed by one of the world’s most celebrated architects, and it is now the highest-priced house for sale in Phoenix at $9,999,999! See if it’s really “mesmerizing” and worth a million bucks. A Castle-Like Home in an Affluent Neighborhood
Do you want to go all-out in your big move of buying a new home for your family? If you are following architecture or Frank Lloyd Wright, and have millions of dollars to spare, this might be a good option! This beautiful home is something like a medieval yet appealing castle that’s about to fly off to the moon. Of course, excuse the description because that’s how an ordinary person would see it.
This house, also known as the “David and Gladys Wright House,” is special because it’s one of the three circular designed homes by Frank Lloyd Wright. The spiral design is said to cool down the house by effectively capturing the wind. The whole manicured grass looks so amazing you’ll feel like you’re in a world-renowned golf course.
Truly, the famed architect’s work (and legacy) lives on with this masterpiece. It was the architect’s design for his son and daughter-in-law, David and Gladys Wright. According to Town & Country, the couple often referred to this beautiful home as their “Taj Mahal.”
It sits on a 5.58-acre land in the affluent Arcadia neighborhood, and is now available for sale! The house has been unoccupied ever since Gladys Wright died. Las Vegas lawyer Zach Rawling then bought it for about $2.4 million to save it from being demolished. He donated it to the School of Architecture at Taliesin, which houses the Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation. The lawyer also tried turning this architecture piece into a museum, but the plan fell through because the neighbors sent their own complaints. They were particularly concerned about the commercial traffic this property would bring.
Now, it is eyed by prospective buyers who practically admire Wright.
While the house was built in 1951 (yup, it’s pretty old), you’d be surprised to find that the interiors are pretty modern and sophisticated. But here’s the thing, the house was also just semi-updated. If and when you purchase this, you might want to start on structural renovations and electrical repairs.
Frank Lloyd Wright House Details:
Price: $9,999,999 ($3,917 per square feet)
With 3 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms
Total Area: 2,553 sqft

This concrete block house also features amazing views of the Camelback Mountain. It also makes for a perfect venue to see Arizona’s stunning sunsets. According to the Frank Lloyd Wright House realtors, there is a pending application for historic preservation of the house with the City of Phoenix. Basically, you’ll own a part of history (and maybe of interesting architecture) once you purchase this castle!
What Should You Expect:
There is also a 360-square foot guest home across the way that’s been recently restored. It features a one-bedroom. The plants are also abundant in this area, as if your personal grasslands aren’t enough.
Like most luxury homes and castles, this one has a wheelchair-accessible ramp that wraps around the side. There is also a wide stairway access on the main ground. It lights up beautifully at night, almost as if luring a couple to spend a romantic time inside. If this is your home and you’re preparing for an anniversary, at least you already have a Plan A. Fill the whole path with roses.
This beautiful home is the precursor to the Guggenheim Museum in New York City. But if you think about it, it actually looks like a command center.
Head outside and you will immediately have an idea of the numerous garden parties you can host here. You don’t have to worry about space. You’ve got plenty of it. All you need to worry about is the theme. Would a Mad Hatter’s Tea Party be appropriate?
Feel free to engage in mutually beneficial conversations with your business buddies, or please the crowd with a piano piece. The choice is yours. The living room is a good place to relax and just take a nap. Leave it to the panoramic views outside to take your mind off of stressful things. You can also read a book or have a glass of wine. Plus, you can always stargaze from the couch or have a television set installed if you prefer entertainment over relaxation.
At night, even looking at the house itself helps you relax. What a view! It is simply a stunner.
What Do You Think of The Frank Lloyd Wright House?
Not everyone can appreciate this house. Sure, it is architecturally beautiful and all that, but some will still say it lacks the features some of today’s modern buyers value. In a time where we are probably getting closer to massive futuristic pods and sleek houses, this one is a little behind.
The Frank Lloyd Wright House, along with the other architect’s houses being sold belongs to a very niche market. It’s been that way because the product, too, is niche. You really need to want to live in this type of house. This should feel more like a dream to you. It should be a living art that speaks to your soul rather than just be a luxurious and super expensive home. Don’t you think it’s hard to find such clientele?
Well, we can’t wait for this castle-like home to find its new owner and caretaker!

You might mistake this place as a filming location for a royalty-inspired movie. What can we say? It’s like a castle. Speaking of castles, you might want to check out this Arizona castle that’s perfect for vacations. We heard you can stay in for as little as $80 a night! Isn’t that marvelous?
