The towns representing the lower half of this percentile are unbelievably affordable to live in. Based on housing costs as well as household income, here are 6 of the cheapest towns to live in North Carolina.

  1. Rockingham County

    Situated just north of Greensboro, Rockingham County is one of the cheapest towns in NC. The overall cost of living in Rockingham is 9% less than the nation’s average cost. Not to mention, the price of housing is an unbelievable 24% less than the nation’s average housing cost.

    Located just a bit west of Rockingham, Stallings has an incredibly strong economy with an unemployment rate of only 8.7%. The average household income is $76,000. Living in Stallings, you are sure to save on groceries as the cost of food is 3% cheaper than the state’s average.
