5 Weird Virginia Laws You Didn’t Know Existed

Laws are hard to come by. There is a long process that starts at local government levels and then moves up the ranks. It’s amazing that these 5 weird laws were even passed, but what is more amazing is that they have yet to be repealed! And Virginia is not immune to this oddness. Virginia has its own charms. It could be argued that these weird Virginia laws are sometimes charming. Here are the 5 silliest, dumbest, most outrageous weird Virginia laws.

1) Citizens Must Honk Their Horn While Passing Other Cars

If everyone is following this weird Virginia law then it must make it by far, the noisiest state in the country!

2) Children Are Not to Go Trick-or-Treating on Halloween

To me this is insane! Is it because all the houses are foreclosed? That’s the only reason I could imagine this happening. I say if there is one law to break this year, THIS is the one!

3) It is Illegal to Tickle Women

They have diarrhea. That’s the only reason I can understand why there is this law. All women in Virginia apparently have diarrhea all the time and therefore it is illegal to tickle them. This is completely reasonable.

4) No animal may be hunted on Sunday with the exception of raccoons

These poor raccoons are safe, however, after 2:00 AM. I don’t know what Sunday has to do with hunting, but can you imagine pointing a gun at this cute little guy at 1:59 AM?

5) Virginia State Law Prohibits Acts of Bribery By Any Person Except Political Candidates

Bribery is illegal except for when involving candidates. One of the several weird Virginia laws.

This was probably the easiest law to pass. I can only imagine this on a ballot with a bunch of legal jargon that made no sense to anyone without an Ivy League law degree. Oh well, at least their honest about it.

Virginia is a beautiful state with an amazing history. These weird Virginia laws may be insane but as you’ll find out on WhenInYourState.Com, every state has some very strange laws.
