The yurt is large enough at 700 square feet. It is also well-equipped with three big memory foam mattresses, and two individual memory foam foldable floor mattresses. In total, you can sleep a group of 8! Not to mention, the interior is totally Instagrammable, and you’d feel as if you are the king or queen of your tribe! The owners made sure that the inside of this place looked “meticulously curated” so you can enjoy luxurious amenities while staying true to the camping experience.

No matter where you go inside the yurt, we are pretty sure it’s a cute backdrop for your selfie! You also don’t need to worry about keeping warm because Mahal Yurt has a wood-burning stove for the chilly Arizona nights. For added warmth, you can bring an extra pair of PJs, thermals, or extra blankets.

There is a tiny kitchen with a french press coffee maker, mini-refrigerator, pots, pans, and basic utensils. You can just prepare a quick meal before you head out for a fun Grand Canyon tour.

Since the yurt runs solely on solar power, there will be days when solar batteries may not be able to charge fully. Don’t worry about that too much. Instead, be thankful because it might be the Universe’s sign of telling you to disconnect. Be present in the moment and enjoy your whole experience.

Many visitors have a love-hate relationship with the absence of light pollution around the yurt. It gets really dark here on cloudy or moonless nights. In fact, you might not be able to see your hand when you put it up in front of your face. The silver lining is that your eyes will be glued to the beautiful Arizona starry skies. You can always use the LED lantern and lights inside the yurt if you need more light.

This is your chance to see every star in the Milky Way. Mahal Yurt is definitely one of the best and fabulous places for stargazing. On top of that, it provides the ultimate glamping experience. Also, the place runs on solar power, but there are still some places for you to plug in your cellphone. Unfortunately, it can’t handle other devices that need a lot of power such as blow dryers. There is no wifi at Mahal Yurt, true to its mission to let you disconnect.

There is a small outdoor shower with hot water outside the yurt. You may also use the compost toilet and sink for cleaning up in the outdoor bathroom area. The soap and towels are already provided.

You can bring your furry friend here but you need to pay an additional $25 fee. Please also do not let them on the couch or bed to be respectful of other people’s allergies.

Since the roads that lead to the yurt are dirt roads and can get muddy, we advise you to use AWD vehicles. Any truck or SUV would also be able to handle it. If you are bringing a car, you should be careful not to get stuck because the tow service can be pretty expensive.

Lastly, it really gets freezing cold here during winter. You should check the weather forecast in Valle Arizona prior to booking, and also prepare winter essentials. Remember to bring extra warm clothing so you can stay cozy inside Mahal Yurt.

Note: The property is fairly secluded and it is rare for you to see someone driving down the road in front of the yurt. You may also gas up at any of the two gas stations 10 minutes away from the property, and buy all your groceries and snacks because stores close early.
